Tribunal Initiates Inquiry—Concrete Reinforcing Bar from Bulgaria, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates

The Canadian International Trade Tribunal today initiated a preliminary injury inquiry into a complaint by AltaSteel Inc., of Edmonton, Alberta, ArcelorMittal Long Products Canada, G.P., of Contrecoeur, Quebec, and Gerdau Ameristeel Corporation, of Whitby, Ontario, that they have suffered injury as a result of the dumping of concrete reinforcing bar from the Republic of Bulgaria, the Kingdom of Thailand, and the United Arab Emirates. The Tribunal's inquiry is conducted pursuant to the Special Import Measures Act (SIMA) as a result of the initiation of a dumping investigation by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA).
